I'm going to break a record, I'm going to go to a few events of my college homecoming this weekend !!!!I graduated in 1990 and still live in the same city that I went to college in and I've never went to a college homecoming event or kept in contact with my sorors. Well I'm feeling a little more confident and since I'm a semi- empty nester I feel the need to get my own life.

Tonight is a mixer at the hotel, a happpy hour before the mixer at a restaurant/bar and a party at a club?  Now I'm definitely going to the mixer but I have no clue what to wear. I bought a smaller pair of jeans yesterday and a short corduroy skirt to wear with a sweater and tights but the size 12 is too big so I'll have to take those back and exchange them anyway. Am I on the right track? I don't even have a career or a job so I kinda feel like a failure anyway. Help !!!!!!

#1.  YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!!!!  Who said that having a career/job makes you successful?  I've seen the pictures and read the posts about your kids.....YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!

#2.  Don't stress about what to wear to your weekend events.  With the cool weather we are having, some jeans, a nice top/sweater and boots sounds fine.  Whatever you wear, just make sure you are comfortable.

#3.  GO TO HOMECOMING AND HAVE FUN!!!!!!

So agree with PurpleT. THINGS do not make you an successful person.

I see it here on BAF and in my everyday life how SOME front as if a career OR having several thousand dollars in a bank account or driving a certain car make you a sucessful person. FAILURE to me is constantly having to AIR your accomplishments without having others pick up on it without the constant bragging.

I would take your accomplishments ANYDAY. You raised two great COLLEGE driven children in a two parent home with two wonderful parents. I wonder how many people can say they have accomplishment that?? NOT MANY

Have a great Homecoming Weekend!!
So Blessed!

Hey Neenaj

OK here goes again.  I posted earlier but I don't know what happened to my post

anyway I won't type all that again since others have responded basically

saying the same thing I was saying.  Long story short ... you are a beautiful

intelligent woman who took charge of your life through wls and pursuing wholeness.

Success has absolutely nothing to do with career/job.  Some measurements for success

involve family co-hesiveness and giving to others.  I don't know you but I've seen you speak

of,  IMO, awesome children/family and you give to others with your wls tips.

OK for the outfits ... jeans sound great pair them with sexy top and heels

I love the corduroy skirt since it is short, tights are great hope the sweater is

tight ..... accent the boobies girl. lol

Most important be you, be confident and have a ball!!!!!

Y'all are the best.   I have tears running down my cheeks right now. I may not have met any of you but you sure know how to make me feel special. I once was a successful teacher and basketball coach until I had to medically retire. I tried to work and it lasted a year before I was told that I was missing too much work due to illness and dr's appts. and when I was there, I wasn't well. So I resigned last week. I've been very depressed because I was in denial about my illnesses and how I'm not eating and how I'm still losing weight...... I'll stop here.

Thank you for the love. I'm going to go find a tight sweater at the consignment store and put some makeup on tonight and have a good night. I will take pics. Most of these people never saw me really big, I was size 18/20 my senior year in college. But now I'm a size 10.   Y'all have truly touched my heart because I don't have material things but I have plenty of love.
